The life of VS1 vacuum circuit breaker depends on its quality of materials, and even more depends on number of maintenance. How long should its maintenance cycle be? How many times should it be maintained? When should it be maintained? What components need to be maintained? What issues should be paid attention to when maintaining these components?

VS1 vacuum circuit breaker will not be disassembled and repaired on site, only do maintenance and corresponding tests. The VS1 VCB should be maintained every 3-6 years or when operations reaches 1200 times. If operating environment is poor, the lower limit of the maintenance period should be taken. For temporary maintenance, if one of the following situations occurs, the operation should be stopped, then, maintenance should be carried out and corresponding tests should be done.

1. Poor insulation, discharging, flashover or breakdown;

2. When components are damaged, such as closing or opening coils are burned out;

3. Failure to close or open due to components damaged;

4. Other abnormal phenomena that affect safe operation.

After VS1 VCB breaking short-circuit fault current for 20 times (50kA), 30 times (40kA) or 50 times (25, 31.5kA), VI should be replaced.

The VS1 vacuum circuit breaker should be replaced after the number of operations reaches its mechanical life. Generally, spring operating mechanism is 20,000 times (referring to the breaking current below 31.5KA). For breaking current above 40kA, the mechanical life of spring operating mechanism is 10,000 times.

After operation of 20 years, an evaluation should be carried out on the VS1 VCB to determine whether it needs to be replaced.
